We are pleased to offer you this wonderful set of antique George Jones & Sons ceramic plates. Features the 1880 hand painted Almonds pattern on a square plate with the multi-colored bird and almond tree pattern. The colors consisits of rich grays, browns, yellow and oranges on an ivory backdrop. Plates measure 8 1/4" square and are numbered and hallmarked on the backside. Includes the George Jones & Sons logo and each handpainted with the same russet colored paint that is used on the plate #6734, 6736 over 9 and what appears to be 6730 over 9. The set is in such nice condition considering their age and I will describe them with great detail. There is crazing throughout, they could not have been used much because there are only a few fine utensil markings and you have to hold them to an angle to even see them. As described above, the coloring throughout is rich and deep, a little stray paint here and there along with the backsides have a darkness that has occured from age yet has no bearing on the beauty of this set. A remarkable set of hard to find George Jones dishes that not only will make a lovely addition but a wonderful investment.
